In 2005 Robert Hawkins
was invited to perform at The Montreal Comedy
Festival. His hilarious sets in "The Masters" series
resulted in an encore performance at the "Best Of
The Fest" show where he was discovered by David
Drozen of Uproar.
You may recognize
Robert from his appearances on "Comedy Central
Presents", "Premium Blend" or "Shorties Eating
Shorties" all on CC. Fans of the FOX sitcom "Titus"
will remember him as the lowlife brother-in-law,
Michael.
Not bad for a high
school drop out who joined the Army in 1985 because
he was, in his words, "eighteen and sick and tired
of 10th grade".
In 1990 Hawkins
finally decided to heed the encouragement from
friends to try stand-up comedy in Dallas, Texas. In
1993 he won the California State University Comedy
Competition. In 1994 he was a finalist in the San
Francisco Intl. Comedy Competition prompting a move
to the bay area.
In 2001 Robert was
voted one of the top comics by comedy club owners
for the American Comedy Awards. He continues to
write for television and tours relentlessly and
makes people laugh worldwide including our Armed
Forces in Iraq.
Robert is the opening
act for Ron White and (sometimes for) Larry The
Cable Guy both of "Blue Collar Comedy" fame.
