With his smooth style and deep, gravely New York
accent, Bobby Collins wraps a proverbial arm around his audience's shoulder
and brings them in as if they were old friends. His striking brand of
emotional and physical humor focuses on monologues derived from the
experiences of everyday life spotlighting family and friends, while usually
ending with himself as the punch line. THE NEW YORK TIMES has called Bobby
"the most natural comedian working today", while THE NEW YORK POST said that
"he is perfect fusion of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis." A onetime VP for Calvin Klein, pulling in a cool six figure salary and
riding through Manhattan in limousines, Bobby scraped it all to be a
full-time comedian, stating "what I really love to do is comedy...That's
what I do; that's who I am; that's my need. I love it."
Having spent the last 15 years paying his dues and perfecting his craft in
comedy clubs around the country, Bobby Collins has opened for such
entertainers as Julio Iglesias, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Dolly Parton, The
Pointer Sisters and The Everly Brothers. Eventually, Collins rose through
the ranks to become a headliner in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Classically handsome and charismatic, his film credits include "Indecent
Proposal" and "Car 54.. Where Are You ?" Bobby Collins has also made the
jump into the world of television, guest-starring in several television
series including "L.A. LAW", "Sisters" and "Herman's Head".
He has also been featured on Showtime's "A
Pair of Jokers" and has hosted A&E's "Evening At The Improv". With more
clubs, more headlining, and definitely more acting in his future, Bobby
Collins has emblazoned his name as a top notch comedian, and he's a natural
born actor.. there's no doubt his film career will one day be on the same
level of other former stand-up comedians such as Robin Williams, Steve
Martin and Billy Crystal.
A native New Yorker, Bobby Collins recently settled in the Los Angeles area
with his wife, Jill, and their daughters, Halle and Madison. |
